DT WOD

FOR TIME: Five rounds for time: 12 deadlifts (155/105 lb), 9 hang power cleans (155/105 lb), 6 push jerks (155/105 lb)

What is the DT WOD?

The DT workout is a CrossFit hero WOD. Athletes must complete five rounds for time: 12 deadlifts (155/105 lb), 9 hang power cleans (155/105 lb), 6 push jerks (155/105 lb). DT is named in honor of USAF SSgt Timothy P. Davis, 28, who was killed on Feburary, 20 2009 supporting operations in OEF when his vehicle was struck by an IED.

With a reasonable amount of weight and reps over 5 rounds, this is a typically intense hero workout. Don’t be afraid to scale back the weight if it’s too heavy to put multiple reps together unbroken.

If scaling is required drop the weight. Use the same weight for each movement for consistency. If you need to scale anything else speak to your coach.

Tips for the DT WOD

  • Practice with a lower weight and build up to the prescribed amount – don’t be afraid to scale back if it feels too heavy.
  • Break up the reps into smaller groups if needed.
  • Scale the movements if required.
