Open 17.5 is a long couplet of thrusters and double-unders. Unlike the sprint-style 14.5/16.5, this is an endurance test with 90 thrusters and 350 double-unders.
- Thrusters should be unbroken each round (only 9)
- Double-unders need to be consistent—trips cost time
- Breathe during double-unders to recover from thrusters
- Pace the first 5 rounds—save energy for the back half
- If double-unders are a weakness, scale appropriately
Pacing
Even splits. Each round should take roughly the same time. If early rounds are much faster, you'll likely slow significantly.
